What is the Ruling on Playing PUBG After the Removal of the Bowing in Front of the idols’s (Shirkiah) Mode?

NOTE: It should be noted that the below answer is the English translation of the Fatwa issued by Jamia Uloom Islamia Allama Yusuf Banuri Town, Karachi, Pakistan.

Question

My question is about the PUBG game. The fatwa you gave was about a mode in the game that the gamers ended four months ago, now that mode is not in the game. So what is the ruling on that?

Answer

As a matter of fact, even if the owners of the game have completely eliminated the participatory shirkiah mode from the game, it is still illegal to play this game itself due to the many evils in it.  In our previous fatwa, the ruling of renewal of faith and marriage was for the one who bowed the player in front of idols in this game. And a person who has played this game without doing the aforesaid act will not be excluded from the realm of Islam, but due to his wrongdoing, he will be marked as a sinner and will have to repent and seek forgiveness.
